The Topeak booth at the Taipei Cycle Show featured the latest stuff from any booth I’ve seen and there are a lot of very interesting new ideas, gadgets and tools here – all unreleased yet, with minimal information available, but a lot to know . just look at the photos.
The ultralight collection of water bottle frames that caught my eye first, ranging in weight from 10g to 15.5g for road, gravel and mountain bikes, so we’ll start with those.
The new Feza Light bottle cage line is led by a Kevlar-reinforced 10g R10S carbon fiber tubular frame. It’s only for road bikes, but…
The Feza G12 is a 12g bottle cage for gravel bikes. Also carbon fiber with kevlar, it’s probably a bit stronger or hold on tighter. Or both.
The heaviest of these is the MT16, a 15.5g mountain bike bottle cage that is also made from Kevlar-reinforced carbon fiber. I think I could live with that matte black finish and put this clunker on my road bike.
This bike stand and floor pump combo has fold out legs long enough to balance the weight of the eMTB. Thoughtful design holds your bike while you inflate your tires, but I’m not sure a non-drive side pedal will free it up to rotate the cranks for minor maintenance, cleaning, or tweaking.
This is a two-stage pump that quickly fills high volume tires and then switches to a high pressure pump for finishing off-road bike tires.
The Topeak Prepstand T3X is a 3-axle frame mount that does not attach to the seatpost to hold the bike. Not sure how this works with any of the patents that SILCA’s Hirobel mount might have, but it’s a safer way to keep the bike on a work stand without putting pressure on the carbon tubing.
These TetraFender M1 and M2 mountain bike fenders use universal straps to attach to almost any bike and fork. They provide much wider coverage than typical fork and saddle options.
The Topeak collection of bike frame bags, saddlebags and bindings continues to grow, making a good case for e-gravel bikes.
Topeak’s Pakgo line is expanding with a TT version for longer and more unusual triathlon and time trial bikes. A built-in tray grabs the fork axle and straps around the BB area to keep it secure, then adds velcro pads and detail management to keep everything secure and rattling-free.
The Ratchet ‘n’ Roll Tool Roll comes with a variety of Allen and Torx bits, torque wrench, ratchet screwdriver, and extensions. Straps let you clip it to a frame or slip it into a backpack or jersey pocket.
Finally, a new series of saddlebag mounts combines mounts for accessories, tools and lights into a modular system that lets you swap things around.
There is no pricing or availability information for any of these products yet.
