Where to start with Priority Joker? First, with some steez. You can’t just work with a 70t sprocket. and without brakes without a little attitude.
After that, if you follow the example of Priority, you just need to spin up. The Joker is “the company’s answer to the question, ‘How fast can we make a belt-driven race bike?’ The response is damn fast! This critical rider, a brake-less horror, will be on the track soon,” the company said in a statement.
Coming soon means March 20 (Monday, for all you calendar lovers). A belt-driven bike only loses 100 units on the first ride. Distribution occurs through code. Sign up on the website and you’ll receive a code that gives you limited time to fork out the $1,399 MSRP. New codes are issued every 24 hours until 100 Jokers run out.
Along with the Gates Carbon Drive belt and giant ring, you’ll find an aluminum frame, a tapered carbon fork and a 20mm set-back seatpost, all focused on “aggressive geometry”. It is fitted with 60mm carbon rims with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.
When you’re all on the gas, it only makes sense that you don’t have brakes. Don’t expect it to stop with anything but back pressure on the pedals.
The Joker is a rare bird to get a decent price for, but still I’m sure some will miss the first run of 100. There’s one way out: those who live in the New York area can book a Joker test ride with the brand’s racing team.
