Ellen Perez enjoys the best result of her career at the Miami Open.

The 27-year-old Australian and her American Nicole Melichar-Martinez took a 6-7(7) 6-4 (11-9) second round victory today over Anna Kalinska and Cathy McNally.

The eighth seed duo saved match point in the game’s deciding tiebreaker, recovering from an 8-9 deficit and scoring three straight points to seal the win.
