Jason Kidd: With Kyrie Irving Luka Doncic can be put anywhere

Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd was asked about how the team used star guard Luka Doncic more than usual in Sunday’s off-the-ball game against the Charlotte Hornets.

“I think you could put LD (Luka Doncic) anywhere with Kai (Kyrie Irving),” Kidd said. “One of the things we can look at is all the double commands he gets, it’s hard to double the pin – so that’s what we did and took full advantage of that against Charlotte.

“Rick (Carlisle) played two teams all over the court last time, so we expect tonight… So I think we’ll look at a double team for LD that puts him in the pins and makes him come off (off) different pieces of the floor to have success, and see where the double commands come from. So, again, a pindown in the middle of the room, I think he took full advantage of that.”

I asked Jason Kidd about how the Mavericks used Luka Doncic more than usual against the Hornets in a no-ball game on Sunday.
