Arsenal player Matt Turner left ‘nervous’ after USMNT game following unusual move
Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner took the sex-revealing trend to the next level last night. The USMNT star and his wife, former NFL cheerleader Ashley Herron, have heard the news they are having a baby girl following the national team’s 1-0 victory over El Salvador.
Ricardo Pepi’s strike in the 62nd minute meant that the US confirmed its place in the CONCACAF Nations League final as well as the Gold Cup this summer. The win was Anthony Hudson’s second win as interim head coach after failing to defeat Serbia and Colombia in January.
After the game, the Gunners’ quarterback was at the center of the action at Orlando City’s Exploria Stadium as he held a gender revelation in front of 18,900 fans in the arena.

The USMNT team watched as Turner tossed the futsal into the air, revealing a pink cloud. Video of the event on social media shows Turner’s wife holding their son, Easton, while the rest of the team celebrates the goaltender.
This is the second time Turner has revealed the gender of his child after a football match. During his tenure with the New England Revolution, Ashley was the one to hit the ball to reveal the blue cloud, with Turner watching with an injury.
“Of course I was nervous,” Turner told GOAL. “But it looks like excitement, some kind of nervous. You just want to know because I just like to know!
“It’s nice to know that we’re going to have a little girl and I think I’m going to have big, big problems in the future. She’s going to wrap me around her finger!”
He continued, “About 20 people from my family came here. Family time is very important for my wife and me, and in London there is very little of it.
“Obviously we are chasing this crazy dream there. It takes away her closeness to her family because she was from Maine when we were in Boston and I was only three hours from New Jersey. to come here and for US Soccer to be so flexible to let us do it, it’s just a really special moment for us and I’m very happy to be a girl dad!”
